In the late afternoon, prepare for an
immersive experience as your private
guide takes you on a 3-hour city tour of
Santiago de Compostela. During the
tour, you’ll explore the captivating
streets of this UNESCO World
Heritage city, learning about its rich
history, architectural treasures, and
cultural significance. You’ll visit the
iconic Cathedral of Santiago, where
you’ll marvel at its awe-inspiring
Romanesque and Baroque features. The
entry to the cathedral will ensure you
don’t miss a detail as you delve deeper
into the history of the pilgrimage route.
You'll be staying at the
renowned Parador de Santiago, a historical hotel with stunning architecture and a prime location in the
heart of the city. This hotel is known as the oldest hotel in Spain! Your standard double room, complete
with breakfast, will be your home from November 3rd to 7th, offering both comfort and convenience.
To cap off the day, indulge in a welcome dinner at Restaurante dos Reis, located within the Parador. This exquisite meal will feature a traditional Galician tasting menu, a celebration of Galicia’s finest ingredients, including seafood, meats, and locally-sourced vegetables. Each dish will pair perfectly with some of the best regional wines, showcasing the diversity and depth of Galicia’s wine regions. After dinner, you’ll have the
evening to unwind and explore the city at your own pace, taking in the charming atmosphere of Santiago by night.
Your first stop is Adega Algueira Winery, where you’ll be welcomed for a guided tour of the winery, learning about the unique winemaking methods that have been passed down through generations. After the tour, enjoy a wine tasting of their finest offerings, experiencing the region’s signature reds and whites. Following the tasting, sit down for a traditional lunch at the winery, where you’ll savor locally-inspired dishes perfectly paired with the winery’s wines.
In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat trip along the Sil River, one of Galicia’s most picturesque waterways. The river is framed by steep terraced vineyards, providing a unique perspective of the landscape that has shaped the region’s winemaking culture. After the boat trip, you’ll visit Alma Das Donas Winery, where you’ll experience another wine tasting, focusing on the distinct characteristics of this winery’s blends.
Start with a visit to Granbazán Winery, one of the top wineries in the Rías Baixas wine region. Here, you'll enjoy a wine tasting of their signature Albariño followed by a delightful lunch that highlights the best of Galician cuisine.
Next, you'll head to Marina o Grove to embark on a Mussels Boat Tour. During this 2-hour excursion, you'll explore the mussel farms of the region, learning about sustainable farming techniques and tasting the freshest mussels directly from the sea. It's a unique and hands-on experience for seafood enthusiasts.
Option 1: Cambados Wine Experience at Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñanes ($65 USD per person) Alternatively, immerse yourself in the Cambados Wine Experience at Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñanes. This historic winery offers a 2-hour wine experience where you’ll take a guided tour and participate in a wine tasting, exploring the production of the region's renowned Albariño and other local wines.
Option 2: Spa Experience at La Toja ($60 USD per person)For those seeking relaxation after the morning’s activities, enjoy a rejuvenating spa session at the La Toja resort, known for its mineral-rich therapeutic waters. Indulge in luxurious treatments (not included) designed to unwind and refresh.
Option 3: Explore on Your Own
For those who prefer a more leisurely day, enjoy some free time to explore the picturesque town of Cambados at your own pace. Wander through its charming streets, visit local shops, or relax in a café while soaking in the local ambiance.
Ramón do Casar Winery, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the vineyards and cellars, followed by a wine tasting of their exquisite wines, showcasing the best of Ribeiro’s indigenous grape varieties.
Nova Restaurant, a Michelin-starred gem, for an unforgettable lunch experience. The Nova Menu, paired with cheeses and a selection of perfectly-matched wines, will offer a truly sophisticated culinary experience, where every dish celebrates the region’s best ingredients.
In the afternoon, visit Cuñas Davia Winery, a small family-run estate that produces wines of exceptional quality. Enjoy another wine tasting and discover the unique characteristics of Ribeiro wines, which are a true reflection of the region’s diverse terroir. After a day of wine exploration and gourmet dining, you’ll return to Santiago in the late afternoon, filled with new knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the wines of Ribeiro.
On your final day, you’ll check out of your hotel and depart Santiago de Compostela according to your flight schedule. If needed, a private transfer can be arranged to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey to the airport or
